Notable for its exceptionally high geographic concentration of users in Japan, the value of the currency began rising in early July and reached a peak of JP¥ 80 on August 1st, though it has since fallen back to JP¥ 44.6 as of August 5th. In July 2014, following the success of other meme-based cryptocurrencies like DogeCoin, a Mona-themed altcoin was launched by a group under the name of Monacoin Project. That way, Hattoushin has been used in many Japanese dancing memes as well, including Geddan/ゲッダン, Fukkireta/吹-っ-切-れ-た, PoPiPo, among many others. As a result, in addition to be a passionate character, the two combined gave birth to dancing animations. Because of his human-like body, with long legs and arms, Hattoushin was able to reproduce basic human moves, such as dancing. These animations, and many more, can be found on Nico Nico Douga as well. Hattoushin soon became an entire character, the only one being drawn with human-like shapes, to be represented in many Flash animations, starting in 2001. And ichi-san was also characterized as a guy who is always running away from Hattoushin’s crazy homosexual loving. Quickly, Hattousin was characterized as the man expressing his love for ichi-san dynamically and enthusiastically. Then, other anonymous users began to tease him jokingly with Hattousin’s Shift-JIS Art filling full of love for him. It's also from this peculiar thread that the main features of this character have emerged because, in it, >1(1-san, ichi-san) insisted that Hattoushin is creepy and he hated Hattoushin. One of his first appearance is from a 2ch thread from the 9th of November 2001. He is frequently depicted in mock-homoerotic poses, or pursuing 1-san, another 2channel fictionnal character used for basic depiction of a newbie user, originally with murderous but more recently lustful intent. Hattoushin Monā, more often known as simply Hattoushin ( 8頭身 meaning "eight heads tall") and also frequently spelled "8toushin", is an evolution from the initial Monã. He sometimes characterized as being more sensible than the whimsical Monā, but in many cases they are interchangeable. MorarāĪ variant with dots (in Shift_JIS art, the katakana middle dot) for eyes, rather than the apostrophe and backtick, has been named Morarā (モララー, sometimes spelled "Moraler" or "Moralar")* or Matāri (マターリ, also spelled "Matterly" or "Mattarly") and is considered a separate character. Here can be found a website called "Mac de Monar!", entirely dedicated to 2channel characters' drawings. In the following flashes and fan arts, he would get a yellowish color. Here, the anime style led Monā to keep his white initial color, though more human-like, but Morarā, the round-eyed variation one, got some kind of a blue color. Like Giko Neko, and all 2channel's characters so far, Monā appeared in Nightmare City and its followup Nightmare City Catastrophe, flash animations which where first issued for the annual Flash Bomb festival that took place in Tokyo respectively in December 2004 for the first animation and then September 2005 for its followup: In addition, the Mona Font for displaying Shift JIS art compatibly on Linux was named after this character. As a result of his frequent appearance in videos, Mona has been also listed as a recurring character and spawned its own article on Nico Nico Douga. As terminals got more sophisticated (including the use of video screens instead of paper), manufacturers added new ways of controlling the text output, including positioning the cursor anywhere on the screen or switching between styles of text.Beginning in 2000, the character quickly gained momentum on 2channel and elsewhere on the Japanese web as a staple retort with a meaning similar to that of NO U and also went onto inspire a series of flash animations and flash games centered around the character. This limitation was handed down from the teletype days, where special codes transmitted in a serial fashion represented different letters on a page. Terminal emulators (such as Procomm Plus) on the IBM PC) could only display 16-color text and ASCII characters-no bitmapped graphics. To connect to a BBS during the golden era, you needed a personal computer, a dial-up modem, a telephone line, and a text-based terminal emulation program. Related: Remember BBSes? Here's How You Can Visit One Today In the days before home internet hit the mainstream, a different electronic medium called bulletin board systems (BBSes) provided the online gateway to chatting with other computer owners, exchanging files, and even playing games. Here's a look at why ANSI art emerged and how it still serves as a unique hallmark of early online culture. During the age of the dial-up BBS, a special style of digital illustration emerged that utilized 256 text characters and 16 colors to create a vivid array of artworks. I made sure I had enough utilities and PHF before I start planting my houses in. I saved coins before expanding new territory. Well you don’t really have any other choice because of the limited range of your PHF (Police, Hospital and Fire Station). Well in this game, the mere upgrading of streets would “fix” the problem. I know circular roads (my favorite btw) can’t happen here but when I played Sim City, predictable grids meant heavy traffic jams. Layout your desired road network (it’s free.until you upgrade it)ĭon’t get stuck with a boring road network. In between those two zones, create your buffers: Clean Energy, Entertainment, Schools - basically anything you buy with a key since they don’t need to be in range with your PHF (Police, Hospital & Fire) Yes, downloading it is free but you can win it without cheats!Īt least have two zones: Clean (Residential/ Parks + Police, Hospital & Fire Station) and Dirty (Industrial/ Factories + Waste + Sewage & Dirty Energy). This basically means that the game earns money if you don’t know how to be patient. The Game Center version is a time-based game. The look is almost the same but the mechanics and the technicalities are different. Noche) who taught me the basics of a good city. Secondly, I had awesome Planning professors (Ar. Ever since the first release and the recent one with Origin. My city name is Lasso and right now, I’m at level 33 with 157,539 population. So I started playing this game about two months ago (?) and since I posted this photo of my city, I’ve been getting questions on how did I get so rich in-game and how did I end up planning it that way. Parts of the victim's body, placed in plastic bags, were retrieved from the bus, while his ear, nose and tongue were found in Li's pockets. He was shot twice with a Taser, handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser. On July 31, 2008, at 1:30 a.m., the suspect attempted to escape from the bus by breaking through a window. During this time, RCMP officers reportedly heard Li say, "I have to stay on the bus forever." Police officers then observed Li eating parts of the body. The suspect alternately paced the length of the bus and defiled the corpse. īy 9:00 p.m., police were in a standoff with the suspect and had summoned special negotiators and a heavily armed tactical unit. As the suspect had earlier attempted to escape by driving the bus away, the driver had engaged the emergency immobiliser system, rendering the vehicle inoperable. The other passengers were huddled at the roadside, some of them crying and vomiting. They arrived to find the suspect still on board the bus, being prevented from escaping by another passenger, the bus driver, and a truck driver who had provided a crowbar and a hammer as weapons. Īt 8:30 p.m., the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Portage la Prairie received a report of a stabbing on a Greyhound bus west of the city. Witnesses stated that this continued over the course over the next few hours. Li ultimately decapitated McLean and displayed his severed head to those standing outside the bus through a window, then returned to McLean's body and began severing other parts and consuming some of McLean's flesh. The driver and two other men made an attempt to rescue McLean, but were chased away by Li, who slashed at them from behind the locked bus doors. After the attack began, the bus driver pulled to the side of the road, and he and all the other passengers fled the vehicle. Īccording to witnesses, McLean was sleeping with his headphones on when the man sitting next to him suddenly produced a large knife and began stabbing him in the neck and chest. McLean "barely acknowledged" Li, then fell asleep against the window pane, headphones covering his ears. Li, described as a tall man in his 40s, with a shaved head and sunglasses, originally sat near the front of the bus, but moved to sit next to McLean following a scheduled rest stop in Brandon. At 6:55 p.m., the bus departed from a stop in Erickson, Manitoba, with a new passenger, Vince Li. He sat at the rear, one row ahead of the toilet. He departed Edmonton on board Greyhound bus 1170 to Winnipeg, via the Yellowhead Highway through Saskatchewan. On 30 July 2008, Tim McLean, a carnival barker, was returning home to Winnipeg after working at a fair in Edmonton. On 5 March 2009, his killer, 40-year-old Vince Li, was found not criminally responsible for murder, after it was determined that he was schizophrenic, and remanded to a high-security mental health facility in Selkirk, Manitoba, where he was detained until his release on. ‘In this day and age we are operating more lean than before and want to attract new and more diverse businesses and meet the needs of residents. On 30 July 2008, Tim McLean, a 22-year-old Canadian man, was stabbed, beheaded, and cannibalized while riding a Greyhound Canada bus along the Trans-Canada Highway, about 30 km (19 mi) west of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. ‘The MDEC can help us market properties targeted for redevelopment,’ McLean said. If the effort comes to fruition, Berkley would move to become what is called a Redevelopment Ready Community through a no-cost certification process based on best practices. One of McLean’s tasks is to look at Berkley possibly becoming involved with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a public-private agency dedicated to job creation statewide. The city is working on a proposal to build a new community center and a private development to bring apartments and townhouses to the former LaSalette school property on Coolidge Road. ‘In Berkley we want to do new things and make it the exciting community that it is.’ ‘I consider Oakland County to be the gem of Michigan,’ he said. Married a few months ago, McLean moved to Oakland County recently after his wife got a job in the region. On Octoa security expert by the name of Christopher Partridge unraveled the whole mess in this blog post. German blog reader Marc Stüttem then reminded me of the topic in this comment yesterday (thanks for that), and via the above tweet I saw that ArsTechnica published this article on the topic. The colleagues from have pointed this out in this article gorhill's explanations can be read here. This calls code from * so that user activity and data in the browser can be transmitted to remote servers. Raymond Hill (gorhill), the developer of uBlock Origin then inspected the source code of the new version (Nano Defender 15.0.0.206) and saw that it contains a file connect.js. Malicious code now shipped with the extensionsĪ week ago, there were several websites where the extensions can be found, which stated that the nano-core and the extensions were no longer under the control of the original developers. So the project is no longer under the control of the original developer. He put the project in the hands of new developers, but they soon announced that they would create their own GitHub repositories. I will have more details about this in the upcoming days or weeks.Ĭompactly summarized: The developer does not have the time to maintain the project. The transition is still taking place, so I would like to ask for your patience. Hopefully, they will be able to put an end to this backlog madness and finally give Nano Adblocker some real development time instead of constantly trying to catch up to upstream. New developer(s) are in the process of acquiring Nano Adblocker and Nano Defender. With thousands of issues backlogged, it is only a matter of time that the Nano projects collapse.Īnd here comes the news. No matter how well I organize incoming issues, if I do not have enough time to look into them, I will simply fall further and further behind. Now the fourth level of backlog, the notification queue, has over 138 issues waiting for my attention. That was unfortunately not enough, so I added another level of backlog - the triage queue. As the projects grow, I added a backlog system to better manage open issues. It became clear that I simply do not have enough time to properly maintain the Nano projects.Īt the beginning, there were no backlogs. If you feel concerned about the recent changes (please continue reading for more information), please remember that you can uninstall the extensions and/or find alternatives at any time.Īs some of you might have noticed, Nano Adblocker is now months behind upstream. I am not responsible for the actions of the new developer(s). Important updates and disclaimers: The WebStore listings are no longer under my control. I will pull it out in case this post is deleted. A developer ( jspenguin2017) in the nano-core project wrote in this GitHub announcement in early October 2020 that he had sold the project. However, the developer of the nano-core components lacked the time to further develop the project – he wrote that he was lagging behind upstream. The extensions were also available in the stores for Google Chrome etc. The two extensions Nano Adblocker and Nano Defender, if my information is correct, were created by a developer in 2019 as part of a nano project and are offered for Chromium-based browsers as well as Firefox and Safari. In the readme files there is talk about 'upstream' which is used to share the code, whereby upstream links to the GitHub page of uBlock Origin, a project of the developer Raymond Hill (gorhill). Both extensions are based on the so-called nano core, which contains features of uBlock Origin. Nano Adblocker and Nano Defender are browser extensions for browsers that promise adblocker and protection features. Now the topic has fallen on my feet again in two places during the night. I confess, I've messed it up, because I had read a note from my colleagues at German site a week ago and planned to blog about – but it got lost under a big pile of other notes. Kills scored by the Ring of Fire itself, contribute to the stacks towards the next one.You only gain stacks when you kill the monster, kills from party members are not shared. You cast a devastating Ring of Fire after killing 100 enemies. It provides both damage and toughness and unlike Shard of Hatred it works both in the rift and during the Rift Guardian fight. This is the most commonly used Prime Evil Shard. Upgrading to Rank 3 only makes sense early on to get a specific power or when you want to create Level 125 Augments, just like the Whisper of Atonement you can get from Echoing Nightmare. On a sidenote, it is optimal to stop upgrading at Rank 2 when you are fishing for a perfect Soul Shard for your build and have enough Hellforge Ember s to do so. If you feel too squishy, absolutely go for the Damage Reduction and focus on getting Main Stat instead only when you can comfortably survive without the Damage Reduction affix. On Helmets, Main Stat is always good to have to maximize damage but 15-20% Melee/Ranged Damage Reduction is a huge toughness buff for most builds that can struggle to survive way before they have trouble to kill monsters. Some Legacy of Dreams builds stacking a lot of Elemental Damage or Mask of Jeram builds are going to prefer 15% Damage, 15% Attack Speed or 10% Critical Hit Chance over 25% Elemental Damage because they already have so much of it. Similarly, the Attack Speed affix applies to your Weapon and not as an additive Attack Speed roll. As a result, builds dual-wielding Weapons will see the benefit of this affix halved (at the exception of few skills not alternating Weapons). Note that the Damage % affix is local to your Weapon DPS, meaning it is not a straight 15% separate damage multiplier. Critical Hit Chance is a pretty good choice as well in most cases. A perfectly rolled 15% Damage is almost equivalent to a perfect 25% Elemental Damage roll for most builds. On Weapons, Damage % and Elemental Damage are the most interesting affixes, with Elemental Damage slightly pulling ahead in most scenarios. Also interestingly enough, the presence of Life per Hit on every Lesser Soul Shard (Weapon) is pretty much killing the possibility for any build to make a proper use from Shi Mizu's Haori. Also, the 20-25% Elite Damage is additive with other sources of Elite Damage ( Aughild's Authority, The Furnace) as you would expect.īe aware that Leoric's Crown and Broken Crown do not work with Soul Shards in any way! Even if you have Broken Crown on your follower, you need to have a normal gem in your Helmet for this effect to work since it emanates to you. The Damage Range on the Lesser Soul Shards is local to your Weapon, meaning it is directly applied to your Weapon DPS and is affected by the Damage % affix on Weapons. Even better, the range on those affixes is slightly higher than the normal ranges! This is a good thing as it makes sure your build is not in trouble using a Soul Shard because it desperately needs Cooldown Reduction from a Flawless Royal Diamond socketed into your Helmet for instance. If you have it equipped in your own Weapon and your follower has a Poison Damage Range on its Weapon, then your follower attacks can proc the stacks for you! Moreover, there is one Soul Shard special power that kind of works on followers, the Essence of Anguish stacking effect granting you up to 25% Cooldown Reduction, 25% Movement Speed and 50% extra damage taken at 10 stacks. While this is not gamebreaking, it helps them to proc special item effects such as Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker more efficiently. Eventually you can also use the +15-20% Melee/Ranged Damage Reduction for follower setups not using the Immortality Token (for T16 content or simply builds using Enforcer) to help them survive.Īdditionally, you can get a Lesser Soul Shard with +12-15% Attack Speed for their Weapon. This means you can use a Prime Soul Shard in your follower Helmet to get the +946-1125 to any Main Stat in order to have an easier time reaching their 25,000 Main Stat cap scaling their skills. While Soul Shards Rank 0 and Rank 3 special powers do not work on Followers, the normal offensive and defensive stats accessible with Rank 1 and Rank 2 upgrades are working just fine. Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate is a multi-use program which packs in a surprising amount of features. But long-time users may miss some of its recent improvements – and newcomers may not be clear on how to start.ĭon’t forget FL is on macOS, too, so it’s not just a Windows thing any more. Looks quite complex doesn’t it? but don’t worry FL Studio newbies, it can all be explained with the five icons ringed in red: the Playlist, Piano Roll, Channel Rack, Mixer and Browser.FL Studio’s reputation is deceiving: this is one of the richest, most surprisingly open-ended tools for music-making. Here’s one of FL Studio’s demo songs loaded up. The complete guide to FL Studio 20: Step-by-stepġ. Join us for part 2 then, and in the mean time check out our review of FL Studio 20 here. We’ve used the ‘Newstuff’ demo song to show you some of the features, and next time around we’ll look at making a tune from scratch. The following workshop will show how these five main areas interact in a lot more detail so you can understand the FL Studio way and how you can quickly start making music. Finally, once the Patterns created in the Channel Rack are arranged on the Playlist, they can be mixed with the final element, the Mixer, which can be adjusted in size, track colour, you name it. If you want to play melodies, you still use the Channel Rack but then employ the fourth important element, the Piano Roll, to play notes in traditionally across a virtual keyboard (or draw then in as you might on a conventional DAW). The difference is that this song arrangement is put together with individual Patterns, created in the Channel Rack, and these can exist on any track – they are not tied down to one track as in most DAWs.īeat Patterns tend to be created in the Channel Rack using a traditional step sequencer – just highlight the beat you want to play as it cycles around. These Patterns are arranged on the Playlist, the large central area of the GUI and one other DAW users will recognise as being where the song arrangement comes together. The second is the Channel Rack that contains Patterns of these beats and notes which, when put together, make the song arrangement. The first is the Browser which contains all of the ingredients – samples, sounds, instruments, effects and so on – that you will use in your song. Hover your mouse over each and the information about it will be displayed top left of the screen but we’ll run through them here as they are the very heart of how you make music in FL Studio. So if you are a used to using any other DAW, we’ll explain how FL Studio relates to those and how its unique approach will have you making music in minutes, so let’s get going! The grand tourįL Studio 20 comprises five main areas, each switched on and off using five icons (the first five of the 10) in the centre of the top part of the screen. It’s not necessarily aimed at newcomers to DAW music making – although they will get benefits from following the workshop – but more at people cross-grading from other platforms. But that’s why we’ve put this guide together. At first it might seem like a difficult DAW to get your head around, because it does things in rather different ways to other similar software. Either way, if you are new to FL then you have come to the right place. |
